The Lunch Bunch
Riverhills has found themselves in need of some extra hands. Budgets are being cut and people are being asked to do additional duties every day. Lunch time for our students can be a real challenge for the staff and also overwhelmingly LOUD. The need for extra help in the cafeteria is just not financially or physically possible at this time. Other schools in the area have found themselves in the same situation and a few have come up with some creative resolutions. We would like to attempt to follow in their footsteps and staff our cafeteria with volunteers each day. We need a Volunteer Lunch Bunch!!
We would like to put together a crew of volunteers to assist during lunch hours each day (10:20am-12:45pm). The volunteers would be asked to assist the smaller children with opening containers, directing the children to their seats, wiping off tables, and just generally offering a helping hand. Things that the volunteers would NOT be asked to do….. Cook, wash dishes, serve food, feed children, discipline children, etc. This could be a great place for any parents, grandparents, adult family members, or community volunteers who wants to help assist at our school. As with any Hillsborough County school volunteering opportunities you must first complete the volunteer form found at: http://www.sdhc.k12.fl.us/departments/199/volunteer-services/about/
Would you be interested? Please contact me if you or someone you know is willing to be a part of the lunch bunch. This is a wonderful way to give back to our school and to be a part of the amazing Riverhills community.
